Define the result
- Ask whether the client needs an orthomosaic, 3D model, measurements, contours, stockpile volume or another output.
- Clarify expected accuracy and coordinate/reference requirements before quoting.
- Never market survey-grade accuracy unless the workflow and qualified professionals support that claim.
Mission design
- Understand overlap, sidelap, altitude/GSD and lighting consistency.
- Know when RTK/PPK or ground control may be required.
- Plan battery, storage and processing needs for large datasets.
Handoff
- Document capture date, platform/sensor and processing assumptions.
- Deliver the agreed file types, not just screenshots.
- Keep raw source data if the scope requires future reprocessing.
