Readiness training: completing this lesson is a 2 Drones learning milestone only. It is not an FAA endorsement, professional license or guarantee of competence.
Sensor & conditions
- Know the thermal sensor's capabilities and manufacturer guidance.
- Timing, irradiance, wind, moisture and angle can change what appears in thermal imagery.
- Confirm whether the client wants raw radiometric data, images, anomaly locations or a formatted report.
Capture
- Use repeatable altitude/angle and adequate visual/RGB context where the job requires it.
- Avoid claiming a thermal pattern proves a specific electrical or structural diagnosis.
- Record conditions and notable mission limitations.
Delivery
- Separate observations from conclusions that require engineering/electrical expertise.
- Use clear location references so a client can find the same panel/area later.
- Treat recurring inspections as trend documentation when appropriate, not automatic certification of system condition.
